The staff at Avalon Mission Bay are extremely friendly and helpful and make you feel at home. Faye in particular sits at the desk for Phase 3 and she is the best. She will always say goodmorning to me on my way out to work and ready to chat anytime. She also looks out for my car when I park in the garage and will take special care of my packages. She goes way out of her way to take care of us in Phase 3.
I’ve lived in 4 different apartment complexes over the last 6 years in SF and can honestly say that Avalon is by far the best! From day 1, I felt welcomed by each of the friendly concierge, who always greet you with a smile. One concierge in particular Fei Meng even took the time to send me a welcome email after meeting, to make sure I had an on-site resource for any questions. It is always a pleasure to see her at the desk. Beyond the concierge, the amenities are excellent, location is unbeatable, and the secure locker package retrieval system is top notch. I’d recommend Avalon Mission Bay to any of my friends!
Lived here for about 14 months, moved from Avalon Ocean and I can say that one key ingredient with Avalon is its great team! Raymond is such a great guy to work with, Austin and the rest of the concierge team is always nice and willing to help! We left the city and now located in another Avalon! I lived at Avalon for a year and it was such a great experience! The staff is so nice and kind and go out of their way to help. Specially want to call out Gemma and Fei Meng both of whom made Avalon feel like home. The apartment has these social events every month and has fantastic amenities for the space. Highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking to live in Mission Bay.
I have enjoyed Avalon at Mission Bay since moved from my home country. Concierge is good and want to call out Ms. Fei Meng always welcome residents with big smile. Whenever I come across her at the lobby that makes my day happy. The facility and amenities are good compared with other around here.
Avalon at Mission Bay: You don’t get what you pay for.
Current resident of 7 months as of 2023. Our unit is about $5000 including rent/parking/utilities for a 2B2Ba.
To any future tenants, I would advise not paying that much. Avalon charges high rents, but does a sloppy job of living up to the promise of a “premium” apartment complex.
They understaff, so the security desks are left frequently unattended.
The garages and disposal areas are poorly cared for and have a persistent, rank odor.
Despite knowing that the buildings are right next to the bay, they allow months to go in between window washes, leaving their residents with a beautiful view of seagull poop smeared on their glass.
And on the rare occasions they do order a window cleaning, they don’t warn their residents who may have their remote meetings suddenly interrupted. I’m speculating that they cheap out on the service too, because they don’t even do a complete job.
When the water continues to run cold after the hot water boiler is supposedly “fixed”, they shrug their shoulders. And yet you still get the full price of the water heating bill.
I could go on. The place looks nice when you tour, but the bottom line is that Avalon understaffs and cuts corners on the basics.
My family had a great experience living here. The walkability to grocery store, Caltrain, parks, coffee shops, playgrounds is great. Having lived in couple premium rentals prior, in various cities, we know there’s always going to be the …
